Someone spill.

I'm shaking like a dog trying to pass a peach seed in anticipation of the results.

And now Ladies & Gentleman! the moment you have all been waiting for..........first off, I want to thank Scott (454 BlueBoat) for coming out to play on such a nasty winters day.
Image

But I wanted a second seat of the pants opinion from another experienced Jet Boater. :D (and I needed a photographer and assitant for this demonstration  ) So first thing, was go out warm the boat up. Give Scott a ride. Today was also the first time he has ridden in my boat, (unbiased opion :hop1: )
Image

So after about 20 minutes of blasting up and down the river, :drive: freezing our butts off, doing all the usual maneuvers, so Scott could see how I had the boat set up initially. Then I pulled it back out.

Heres the stock exit housing.

Next up, was to swap the rear half.
Image

To save time I had allready installed the Jetovator cable and controller that I had made. Here you can see the added up down lever on the new exit housing.
Image

Ok now back down the ramp, launch, and go for a ride. :drive:
Image

Also I made no other changes to the boat, ride plate same, etc..
OK, let me tell what I learned from this little project. :geek:
from the get go, the water stream looked quite a bit different than before. It looked more that of an I/O or V-Drive at Idle out speed. Before the stream was pretty airated (full of bubbles) now its more like a big water hose. heres a pic with the nozzle in the center position (straight) as I jumped on it.

heres the ones everyone is probably wondering about. did my little experiment improve the rooster tail? Its like a 100 foot PeaCock! :cool1:
Image

Does it handle any different? It pops out of the hole like a 19 foot boat does! :cool1:
Image

the boat feels way lighter! like maybe 4 feet of hull is in the water at high speed instead of 8 feet. it turns from the tail instead of the bit of bowsteer it feelt like before.
Image

Did I mention the kool rooster tail?
Image

My summation is this. my boat feels like I added 100 horsepower. the actual exit size of the stainless tube insert in the nozzle is larger then the stock exit housing. It only makes sense, being an axial flow pump, it should be able to pump more volume with that reduced restriction  I need to do some more testing. But I think my little project was a Major Success! :cool1:  :cool1:

That's awesome Steve! You're right about the water stream looking different, I'm not sure I've seen such a "thin" stream come out of a Panther like that. Both of my boats with Panthers were a lot thicker looking than that, even with the diverter. I do remember putting the diverter up and feeling the boat let loose and getting the feeling of it almost going into a passing gear in the 19'er. Congrats on the success!

Well a great deal of thanks goes to everyones input from the LBBA Board here as well. :cool1: Its not very often you can find a place to share feedback about a common passion (or disease  ) that most of us here seem to have. Hmmm........what would you name an ailment that requires one to go :drive: blasting around any available body of water in a Jet boat anytime you can or your sure you would just go crazy? :rollon:

Like steve said there was a big differnce I could notnt believe it in every way. hes boat felt a lot more on top of the water more too. and the water coming out the back looked like a fire hose now instead od a wide amount of water going all over the place like they normally too . And I really want to say his boat rides very nice and he made lots of waves out there and it went over them pretty smooth I thought for having a pretty flat bottom compared to my boat witch is a more v- shaped. Steve you have a nice boat good ride there. If antone out there has the ability to do the modification your going to want to find out how to do it
