Well, the chrome will cut down on wind resistance and may yeild more RPM! But won't the chrome make it not weigh the same?? I have no clue how heavy chrome is.

Come on S Mac....Shasta is coming fast!! :cool1:

Thanks everyone for checking. Kris I may take you up on the offer, I'll know after tomorrow (6-7-2010) I used to race for a Ford dismantler here, he's gonna check for me. to answer the questions, The reason for the counterweighted space was the counterweights were reduced in size to clear the slightly longer bores in the later 460 engine blocks. These later blocks I found are also the ones ford used in a 510 cid build for dump trucks. On a positive note most of the stroker kits for 460, still work with this block, but are balanced internally. Im hoping to build a little bigger motor after this season. Scott, thanks for checking on the chrome one. But, you cant really see the spacer anyways, so I think I will go with a painted one instead. I also have a deep seeded fear when ever I hear the words "just call the dealer". :o The flex plate is different as well, it has a small weight welded on it. Same number of teeth & same diameter though. heres a pic.
