For Sale Vintage Coke machine Glasco GBV_50 Working

For Sale Vintage Coke machine Glasco GBV_50 Working

Postby Publknme » September 28th, 2011, 12:53 pm

I am listing an item to see if there is any possible interest of a sale that has been in the family for 30+ years.
IE: I am trying to sell this only if the price is right.

It used to reside in the OLD Pittsburg Ca. Post office in Downtown Pittsburg, when it closed my father got this machine or "acquired it". he kept it till about 8 years ago and passed it onto me. and it still works...
an adult owned Coke machine. Its plugged in right now and Ice cold.
it is a Glasco GBV-50. keeps beverages chilly cold on its lowest setting,

** here are the specs **

Dimensions: 37"W x 20"D x 41"H
Weight: 230 lbs.
Vending Capacity: 50 bottles
Pre-cool Capacity: 25 bottles
Manufactured by:
Glasco
Muncie, Indiana

has never been repainted. would make a great candidate for restoration. or just a nice cooler for a garage or family room.
The Stainless steel lid still shines..
The power cord was replaced in the 90's and in the last few years the internal circulating fan started wearing out.
so I simply disconnected it and made a muffin fan to circulate the cold internal air. this did no damage to the unit what so ever.
we alos added some weather stripping to the pre cooler door, but this can be removed easily without damage to the unit.
This Item was my fathers he took ownership of it in the late 1970's its been in the family ever since, Kept indoors.
it does have signs of use and wear and tear, scratchs and could use a good polishing etc. but it is complete, with working Key lock door. 10 cent coin mechanism and even the original door crank.

this machine restored is worth $2500.00.+

all "reasonable" offers will be considered, I wont give it away either.

I have been kinda "fixing" up a corner of my shop to look like an old Texaco Station. have some reproduction signs and stuff (can't afford the real ones)
I know exactly where it would go, and would love to have it.
I also don't have $2500 or anywhere near that number to spend on it.
Someday...

cool stuff! I, too, would love to have that coke machine but funds are a little low right now. I'm gonna send the pics to a friend of mine to see if he's interested.

oh and by the way, you can trust your car to the man who wears the star!

they fit perfectly I used to only drink Rolling rock and St Paulie girl, it keeps them 2 degrees above freezing set at the 2nd to lowest setting on the cooler.

2500 isnt the asking price, just the estimated restored value as I once looked into it and checked on it again this morning...
I kind of used some of my info from other listings to kind of get the point across that this isnt something one can pick up for a C note... and Ive seen ones NON working in the 3-500$ range, after coming home form the doctor its already got a fine sheen of ice on the lid form only a half day plugged in.

I would entertain any offer's around the 1K area of course this is hundreds less then I have it listed for on other places... Just sayin... I despise having to even sell it or list it... if I can figure anything else out in the next week or so I wont sell it at all.
