Welcome! Say hello to Brent for me, I haven't seen him in a few years. You can get the flappers from CP Performance, here's the webpage so you won't have to look too hard - http://www.cpperformance.com/c-469-replacement-flappers.aspx or Rex Marine http://www.rexmar.com/page233.html

I personally I don't use them they just tear and blow off on my BBF I've never had any water back flow on mine and I'm running the Harman logs and risers with 4" tips.
But there are a lot of guys that swear by them though

I used to think the same thing for yrs.But then one day I was at campfar west and I went to the other side and beached my boat up the shore alittle and the waves were smacking the back of the boat for about 1 hr or so and when I got in the boat to leave the motor wouldnt turn over.So I had to pull all the plugs and turn it over. Then put them back in and all was ok then .Thats how I learned and it never happened again

I've been lucky I just got tired of spending money on something that lasted about 15 minutes and would tear off.
I need to find a beter flapper for my 4" tips. I was thinking maybe this style might last longer it's hinged spot not right in the flow of the exhaust

Chris thats the same ones I changed over to and at least when the waves hit the back it stops the water from going through and the snails will stop what ever dose go in. And now I put a set of basket baffles in and I drill holes in the front plate so it dosnt slow the flow coming out but will slow down the water going into my tips and it still sounds good

I switched mine over to those style as well. I bought mine down in a store in Arizona, and he said his ski boat has had them on it for about 5 years or so same set. He used to replace the other internal style almost yearly, and it always seems that the tear right at the hinge point. But the thing is that those internal ones are not hinged in the heat and also don't have the sharp edge to hinge against. I like mine so far.

i am fairly new to this jet boating world myself but in my opinion the engine doesn't know what its in.the things that create horsepower if the engine was in a car still create horsepower in a boat

Hey Kris, I have a set of those style flappers in 4" that I'm never going to use. PM me with you address if you want them. I've been thinking about how to return the favor to you for the guzzle of gas you gave me last year at Ski Beach.
