Kind of hard to believe but this is the 10th year of the Tower Park outings. Way back when, I said I'd like to do it for 10 years, hoped it would go that long and here it is. When it grew from filling 8 campsites the first year up to 55 sites a few years later was pretty amazing to me and others. When it got up to that many sites, it did get a bit out of control so it was downsized a tad.
At this point, I'm looking to see if there is anyone out there that would like to take it over and continue on the tradition? It doesn't have to be just one person, it could be a group effort but to be honest, it's really not all that much work anymore. I think the biggest thing is having to deal with a new manager at KOA every year to bring them up to speed and then communicating with KOA once a month or so.
The only thing I'd like to retain is the t-shirt deal, if they are still wanted. The reason is that our silk screener has MS and it's pretty much the only thing he can do these days to earn a few dollers. Not only that, he does a great job.
I'm putting it out there now so whoever that might be interested can get on it while at TP10.

Cas, it is sad to see you retire from doing it but all good things have to come to a end at one time or another. yourself and Mrs. Cas have done a great job in doing it and I myself and my troup want to thank you guys for all you have done, it is the main thing we look foward to every year. Thank you Both.

Pat, I have to agree with you on that note. Although I dont have much history with all you folks, I do want you all to know it has been a very rare & extreme privelige, to meet most of you. Especially the many of you that constantly contribute your time and energy to this board, to LBBA Outings, and the entire boating community. The amount of support from information, to helping anyone with a boat in finding a part or solve an issue, to help get them back on the water. Is always a concern and a priority. I am honored to be a part of this maniacal group of enthusiasts! :cool1:

I will offer my services as an assistant. But the time needed to deal with Tower Park is beyond my capabilities. I aggree with Timmy, I think Pat would be a great organizer.

I'd be willing to help with whatever time I can Slotracer
I'm not a very good organizer but with some help of a few more we could do it.

If everyone else is down with it I'd like to volunteer to head up the Friday lunch runs.

Kris,
There really isn't any organizing to be done anymore as far as the campsites go. The biggest thing with that is to set the dates and what campsites to get. Remember, it's only a camping trip, boats are optional.

Jon,
Since you have a lot of the Delta mapped out, that's not a bad idea. I think it would kind of neat to have a rotation of 3 or 4 places to go. 1 year go to Orwood, the next year go to Union Point, etc. Maybe places where there is some beach areas to stop at on the way back.

Yep...I'm pretty much down for anywhere that anyone wants to go. Perhaps I'll make up a list of places that have a restaurant (not all of them do believe it or not) as well as mileage from Tower Park.
